Is it just me or is the latest version of FL Studio 12 the most unusable fucking hogwash that has yet been released?

I am getting the most ABSURD myriad of absolute bullshit problems unlike anything I have experienced ever before in my life. I'm trying to a get a fucking client project out and audio output is just fucking disappearing from certain .flp files (oh every other one works and I can see plugins trying to send levels to the mixer but then... just no goddamn audio at the mixer) and plugins that never had problems with glitching now suddenly corrupt themselves. Presets don't save right, certain plugins that never had issues no longer retain their configurations when re-opening, VSTs that loaded FINE in earlier versions of FL 12 now don't load at fucking all, and I'm constantly having to re-authorize plugins. SO MANY RE-AUTHORIZATIONS. WHY

WHAT IN THE FUCKING FUCK FUCK FUCK

I seriously am almost unable to kick out a 10 second file with pretty basic plugins at this point. It's becoming a bit of an issue. I may finally have to ditch this fuck nonsense completely and get Ableton or something.

...or calm down and install some of older versions that worked

Stick with FL 11. I remember hearing on here that from the get-go 12 was junk.

FL 11 had TS303. FL 12 has Transistor Bass.

not sure whether this is relevent but eh.

That's true I overreacted a tad I suppose. But honestly when you're getting 30 seconds of usability before it consistently crashes with 2 basic instrument plugins in a project (Sampletank 3 and Xpand!2) that has to get done soon it's going to get a bit infuriating.

I think what pisses me off the most from a software QA perspective is that this shit really shouldn't happen. The program is honestly virtually unusable on a fresh Win7 Pro install (plugins and basic stuff like gimp and Office only). With as much money as image-line has to be making they've got to have room for a proper software QA guy. This is basic shit when you're such a ubiquitous dev.

I own about $20k worth of audio plugins. Yes my copy of FL is legit.

The problem with contacting FL support is they'll just blame it on sampletank and vice versa. I know how this passing the buck nonsense works.

*ts404

which was never really meant to be a tb-303 clone, just a weird but versatile monosynth from very very early versions of FL back when there wasn't even a piano roll :v

I meant to say that FL 12 REMOVED TS404 and replaced it with something that needs a step sequencer when ts404 could have stayed.

On the topic here, like some people here say, use an older version. Even i have issues in 12.2 and up.

this reminds me of this thread

as a note, the user "gol" is the lead developer of fl studio

I'm aware of who Gol is. If you're equating product stability on a fundamental scale with someone complaining about Gol not personally implementing a user request for list customization then you're taking the piss more than I could imagine.

Had to go back to FL Studio 11.0.4 for virtually any of my plugins to not cause fatal crashes.

I didn't have any crashes nor corruption on 12. Running on my 6 year old PC and it runs just fine and dandy. Reading about what you have experienced just puts me in awe. Are you sure nothing on your PC is 'ruining' the whole experience? A fresh Win7 install doesn't always mean that it will work just fine as some updates are crucial for any software to run well enough. VST licensing software sometimes also messes up things so there's that.

Has all critical updates. I'm a sysadmin for a living so I'm well aware of how to prep systems for production. Worked specifically in a studio environment covering that ground so these issues are honestly all the more mystifying. Almost everything I own is ilok'd except for stuff like PSP/Voxengo and a couple odds and ends to prevent most licensing concerns.

Hm, I see. I don't think I can be of much help seeing that you have way more experience with PCs that I do. Though I do remember having a dying RAM stick on my old PC that would sometimes corrupt data. But that would usually result in BSOD and some corrupted save files. Seeing that you're saying that this happens only on FL Studio, it's probably not a physical fault either.

From a programming standpoint, the newer versions of FL Studio might have been compiled in a way that doesn't support your system. Though again, I don't think that you're using some obscure PC from 12 years ago.

Good luck is solving this mystery!
