I'm making an animation and I have coded buttons, and they won't let me click them or highlight them, and my mouse cursor won't open. Any help?

Are you sure you converted them to buttons? From what you're describing it sounds like when you put your cursor over them it doesn't react as if it's a button, correct me if I'm wrong. In that case the only explanation would be that you didn't convert them to buttons, actionscript won't change that.
Could you provide more details?

Can't really help you then.
If you convert it to a button, your cursor should react when you hover over it. If it's not, then there's clearly something wrong.
