My family is in Florida, my friends and co-workers are with family, and I'm lucky if even a single person calls and/or brings me some sort of gift. In other words, it'll just be another day off for me, and it'll be a sad, lonely one, at that. If I try to watch Christmas specials with all the get-together bullshit, it'll make me miserable. Last year, there was a Too Cute marathon of puppies and kittens doing typical baby animal shenanigans while holiday music was playing. That alone cheered me up, especially when one of the really young puppies (with his eyes still closed) tried to get up and walk, bumped his chubby face into a nearby wall, and plopped back onto the floor. Confused, he began to adorably whimper and I just couldn't stay sad afterwards. Sigh, if something like that isn't available this year, I will probably just roll up in bed and try to sleep through it all. I'm fine the rest of the year. I don't know why Christmas is any different, but my brain treats it as such. Stupid brain.
