Cumbia rebajada !
When I was younger, growing on the "hood" (Mexican hood), I remember about this "new thing" they used to call "cumbia rebajada". Here's a little backstory :
"Cumbia" it's a popular genre among gangs (on my country region).
Around the late 1990's (when cassette tapes were still a big thing) this genre spawned. IDK if you kids know about it, but cassette tape recorders had 2 different speed settings, one slower than other. The "cumbia rebajada" was born when recording cassette copies on the slower speed feature, (intended for a different cassette format on a standard cassette). Here's a good example :

I can't avoid thinking on similarities with the so called "vaporwave" music.
