Malaysia is currently in a fascinating PC battle over the humble hot dog

Due to the large Muslim immigrant population and Muslim tourism, the "hot dog name is confusing" and some people apparently mistake it to mean they're dog meat. Dogs are dirty haram in Muslim culture so apparently this is an issue.

So they're gonna try to change the name. I think they should officially change it to "weiners", that oughta make them happy.

oh and most fucking hotdogs are made with pork so why is this even an issue.

This is a myth. Dogs are perfectly halal in quran. You can't keep them as pets but you can eat then.

Several members of my family have owned pet dogs. I've had Muslim friends whose families have owned pet dogs. Pretty interesting, I've never heard of this before. Might look into it...

Pork is traditional, but they can be made with other meats too.

We can't redicule Radaketor too bad, he was a good guy before the accident.

Changing the name for halal meat should make things easier for everyone. Muslims don't want to eat pork and some non muslims don't want to eat halal, so this should not only aply to halal hot dogs imo.

Also concerning the racist comment of Radaketor, I most of the time don't react to 1 hateful comment. I only get involved if it's a chain of hateful comments. I don't really care about the ban if it's temporary, but it'd be a bit too much if it's permanent
