SmashBits is a 2D animation production company specializing in animated internet entertainment. Our content is found on major distributors (large channels on youtube, vine, vessel, etc). We’ve got a team of over 25 freelance animators working part-time or full-time with us over the internet and 9 in-house team members. We are also working on a TV show for a major U.S. cable network.
We are looking for 2D animators willing to relocate here at our Production House in Evansville, IN. We are hiring two animators in October and plan to hire roughly one per month through next year. Starting pay is $500 a week ($26,000 salaried) plus benefits. This is a position for those already legally able to work within the U.S. Living costs in Evansville are very low. Clean and safe 1000 square foot apartments start at $590 a month! Right now we are looking for:
Digital Character Animator:
-The ability to bring to life a rigged character with very animated movement and expression.
-The ability to understand and provide a full range of emotion and facial expressions.
-Skilled in Flash
“Jack of all Trades” 2D Animator:
-Very skilled in at least one major animation program (we can provide moderate training in Toon Boom)
-Concept Art for developing new ip
-Follow established guidelines set by Art Director
-Assisting in creating and implementing 2D animation and the adapting or repurposing of existing animation (including asset clean up and reorganization best practices)
-Contribute to team brainstorming and ideation
-Learn new technologies and applications as needed
-Experience with a range of animation tasks: character, objects, effects
-Relevant experience
-Teamwork and communication skills and the ability to adjust to new creative challenges
We will favor candidates with the most variety of skills (so please let us know), including:
-Visual Effects (After Effects)
-Compositing (After Effects or Nuke)
-Post Editing (Adobe Premiere or other)
-Image Editing (Adobe Photoshop)
-Audio Recording, voice acting, editing, and mastering (Adobe Audition)
-Comedy Screenwriting (with proven engagement)
-Directing and/or collaboration experience
