Help with Manga/Anime styled work 2016-08-04 19:21:37

I have decided to try doing Manga/Anime influenced work.

My initial try resulted in this: http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/commandantsatarn/quod-fabulares

Despite it looking like it has come down with an illness (It is green, because I wanted to just say its an alien, so I can slightly bend the rules while I learn), and that its face looks slightly weird, I think it is a lot better than my previous work (Don't get me started on that..).

Though I think its an improvement, I am not yet fully satisfied, and I call upon assistance and guidance to improve these visual creations.

Watch YouTube videos, they've taught me most of what I know when it comes to art. Also, become familiar with the human figure, its skeletal, muscle and facial qualities before you attempt the anime style.

I was about to say, like what Mantse said, it's best you learn basic anatomy and facial structure of the human body before you go to stylized work. Manga style will forever look weird if you don't know your basics. While learning, read different genre/styles of manga and really study how the artist approaches their style.
