Effects in toonboom not showing? 2016-07-25 18:50:46

I'm a little new to ToonBoom harmony, but after a few tutorials I thought that the process of adding 'glow' or 'blur' effects could be access through the Insert > Layers function on layer properties? And the option simply isn't there for me :/

Can anyone familiar with toonboom help me out?

Halp.

I've found the best way to use those effects is through the node view. Gimme a minute and I'll post some screen caps

Ok so here is a step by step process.

Step 1 Open up your node view

Step 2 go to your node library and grab your glow node. Attach it in between your drawing and your composite.

Step 3 You're going to need to turn on your Render View to see the effect. You can do this by selecting the little blue flower thing at the bottom of the stage

Step 4 Open up the settings in your glow node by selecting the little yellow box on the left side of the node. There you will see some values you can adjust. I would probably set it to radial but you can experiment and see what works best for you. As you raise the value of radius you will notice it blurs more and more.

Step 5 Increase the intensity value to get the level of glow you want. As you can see you can adjust the color values and get whatever color you want. Everything from here is more or less just messing with values and seeing what happens. Hope this was helpful. Lemme know if you have any more questions.

hugely helpful! I'm still making baby steps with TB, and I know I've still got so much to learn :)
