What rewards programs are you a part of? Which ones do you like the best and why? Have you gotten any good rewards from the rewards program? Do you carry the rewards cards with you, or keep them with you digitally?

I use a movie theatre rewards program, JCPenney, Kohls, Hot Topic, Best Buy, Kroger & Red Robin.

I get free popcorn, drinks, and movie theatre tickets from the movie rewards program. I get a free burger after so many purchases at Red Robin. I get cash off of purchases at JCP, Kohls, Hot Topic, and Best Buy. I save money with the Kroger reward program. I keep my cards on my phone with the "Wallet" application.

I think I have the Gamestop card so that they shut up about it when I buy something, but last time I went they bothered me because I had over 10000 points and that I should get something and now I'm never coming back

They offered several rewards that were based on their franchises. Such as exclusive games, toys, etc. I am a nerd, I know.

Just Gamestop. I get shit from there a lot so I said fuck it and got the card so they'd leave me alone when I was getting stuff.
Currently have like 40355 points but 68855 "lifetime points".

Yes, especially when they started to let everything sell out. No, I don't want crappy downloads and stuff. I want good stuff.

Newgrounds - two reasons why
1) Skulls
2) P-Bot comes over my house once a week and gently caresses my balls. It feels nice.

Gamestop - Game Informer makes for a good terlit read

For the longest time, I had a GameStop card, but I largely only use it for discounts and the occasional extra money (think about $2-3 difference depending on the game) from trade-ins. I also have a rewards card from Giant Eagle, Hot Topic and Speedway, though the only one I go to frequently enough is Speedway, as I usually get a free drink or bag of chips after enough purchases.

Come to think of it, I had a whole bunch of reward cards, most of them are nothing more than simple stamp cards where you get a free item after X amount of purchases of something. I never really use them as I either lose them or give them away to someone else. Those things are easily transferable and they don't go beyond a free hot dog or drink anyway.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Is being a supporter a "rewards program" though? I just consider it as helping support the site.
Which I'm always down for since I love Newgrounds.

I don't need to be a supporter to get Tom's love.

I miss Media Play. I was a rewards cardholder there.

My family have a bunch they do to get cheaper stuff like gas or whatever the store does. Basically every store they shop at that has one they get it.

Speedway, Walmart, VG's, Kroger, and a bunch of others I can't recall. I don't really use them.

Response to Rewards Programs. 2016-07-19 01:25:21

I don't like rewards programs much. All it is they artificially raise their prices on everything so you think you're getting some "deal" every once in a while. All you gotta do is buy stuff elsewhere for less right from the start.

If you're using some rewards program somewhere, there's a good chance you can buy the same products for less somewhere else, albeit without a rewards program.

If you're using a rewards program, most likely you're just spending more money so you have the illusion you're saving money or getting deals.

I use the specific reward programs that I mentioned in the original post because I'm going to go shopping at those places regardless of whether I have a reward card or not. For example, there's only one movie theatre that I go to in my area. They have a reward card, so I have the reward card. It's the only movie theatre I go to, so of course I'm going to sign up for a program that gives me a free popcorn after I go to the theatre five times in a year.

I can understand why someone who's more interested in saving less and getting the best deal might not be interested in rewards program, but I'm not one of those people. I buy what I like, and don't mess around with price comparisons before purchasing an item. I utilize rewards programs because it's beneficial to me, since I shop and go to the same places periodically.

I signed up to be a Nielson family through the National Consumer Panel. I scan all groceries I buy and occasionally I am paid for surveys or writing down what I watch on TV etc. I often get amazon gift cards for doing this.

I use WalMart savings catcher/app as well and make a ton of money. I know a lot of people are like, "Eff walmart, go to whole foods" or "eff walmart go to the small mom and pop delis"--but where I live, my local options are basically Wal Mart and Kroger. I belong to the Kroger rewards program too, but the Wal Mart savings catcher app, you just scan your receipt and it gives you money. We use this money to buy gas.

I'm also in the rewards programs for Petco and Petsmart. Gotta keep my cats happy.
