If by lizard, you mean Tegu, get a Tegu. They're super smart, can seek you out for affection.

They're really neat...a buddy of mine had a Tegu and its like, as it was looking me up and down, it was like the Poacher from Jurassic Park. "You can see her trying to figure you out...thinking..." It was a very perceptive, CLEARLY intelligent creature.

Yeah this is the most hypocritical post of the year right here.

Hamsters are probably easier to take care of since they're warm blooded. They're also furry as opposed to scaly like your other two suggestions. Snakes must be fed mice. That skeeves some people out. They don't eat that often though, only once every few days or so. They also are easier to clean up after. Hamsters eat shit and piss all the time in comparison. Actually hamsters are probably harder to take care of, so long as you know how to keep your reptilian pet's temperature in check. I don't know much about lizards specifically.
