This does indeed make you feel NOT guilty when blocking ads on Youtube.
On a side note: I have a hard time finding a Supporter Tab or button anywhere on the Website. Shouldn't there be some kind of button on the main page? So that we can look a the wall of honor occasionally, read the latest news about supporter goodies and maybe being motivated to do donations? Or can I just not see the appropriate link/button?

I thought that was some fancy markdown they added to the forums at first.
It still shows that you only get 512MB of space on the Dumping Grounds. Can you please change that?

just think of it as adsense that auto detects content and Newgrounds didn't specifically put them there :P

What else does anyone need really right?

Pretty well, you'll see the latest at Pico Day!

You don't have supporter status at the moment - if you did it should show the new amount.

Yeah that sounds like a good way to see it!

For everyone who isn't a supporter - don't worry, lots of cool stuff is on the way for you. The majority of upcoming plans are for EVERYONE but we've been focusing intensely on supporter perks this month because we really want NG to be financially secure, now and forever.
Just supported a couple min ago, not exclusively for the perks, but mainly because this is the apollo for indie animators and programmers alike. I hope you gain enough supporters to ease the burden!

Yeah, I noticed that. Glad to hear it's actually helping!
It looks like it's going to be a huge help though. Who better to fill a hole than the adult industry, right? Sorry I couldn't help it.
FFS, Tom. :P
We had a lot of setbacks in recent months because just about every video ad provider we were working with eventually hooked into a Google service, at which point the Google blacklist kicked in and blocked their ads on NG.
Wait...What? What the hell? I mean...seriously, what?

When we set up the NG YouTube, I attached our Adsense to it, at which point they disabled it again and never gave me a good reason. Now when agencies approach them on our behalf to try and get us up and running, they say it's for suspicious click activity - which I guarantee we NEVER did anything like that - but it's also really strange because it feels like it's something they tacked on after the fact.
I could see the potential that a script kiddy could have pegged the ads on NG thinking he was helping / hurting us but if that happened we were never notified of it back when we were initially kicked off. My paranoid side says that YouTube just doesn't want another video sharing site surviving in their presence.
Losing advertisers sucks. The Portal system is leaps and bounds superior to system Youtube uses, everybody gets a more or less fair shake on Newgrounds with exposure to everybody. You would have to be already popular to get anywhere on Youtube.

Thank you!
What about the dump (and project preview) caching files server-side? I haven't tried it recently, but sometimes a swf wouldn't update after uploading a new version until after several hours. It wasn't a browser cache issue.

I hate the sinister shadow organization google has become, they choose who gets to be on the internet.
remember when you could get video results that weren't youtube?
I didn't read it right then. I thought everyone got 1GB.
As much as it sucks Google is putting it's boot down on NG, I'm glad NG is getting back to it's "FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS!" origins. I'm double happy I decided to become a supporter before times got rough for the site.
Keep plugging Tom!
also, bring back Assassin.

I don't really use the dump, but great news for people who use it!

I believe CloudFlare (our CDN) has made improvements to their cache purging so that might be working a lot better.

This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine... Google is supposed to be impartial in terms of knowing and representing the original origin of the content. However when we've sponsored animation that appears on Newgrounds weeks or even a month before YouTube, when the YouTube version finally releases it becomes the #1 search result.
For example we sponsored #changethebees by HappyHarry. Was out a week on NG before YouTube but look here:
Also going even further, look what happens when you search "change the bees"
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=change%20the%20bees
The YouTube video is embedded there right at the top of the results - it gets preferential treatment for a close match, while the Newgrounds version isn't even listed there on page one.
Thanks for deal with all the not-fun shit so we don't have to, Tom.

Fuckin' fascist pigs suppressing the proletariat for their own gains.
The cake is a liar!
I keep forgetting to turn off Ghostery on this site as wel as uBlock, since ghostry blocks some ads too. Well, I am all up for supporting this site I grew on ever since I joined. Especially since it's still independant. The communitys is tight packed here, it's unique, and it's hipster, even if there's salt thrown around everywhere, it's funny to let off some steam as long as there's no death threats. The internet lives on drama, remember, that and memes.
That Google Monopoly thing sounds tough though but what life would be without challenges to overcome and then come out on top, as long as you stride towards your way, your way should work eventually.

This kind of stuff makes me want to upload videos to youtube... And put a big fucking Newgrounds watermark over all of my videos.

Don't forget to make a bunch of blinding annotations that are ads for Newgrounds, too!
I have long struggled with both Paypal and Google abusing their near monopolies to keep mature content down. It is even more frustrating to see that abuse of power even affecting a site like this.
It already felt like quite an attack on free speech that a third party like Google or Paypal can separate content creators from people who want to support that content simply because they don't approve of the content being made. To find out that Google uses the same kind of behavior simply to prevent competition from prospering makes it even worse.
Neato! Just picked up a supporter badge this past month. Glad to see all the new bells and whistles! <:
Kudos on getting those ad bucks up, too!!

Youtube has its uses.. it's great for teasers and trailers that redirect to the full videos here.. or for blogs and tutorials which can be embedded and your newgrounds page while being set to unsearchable on there.
