Free Animation Softwares 2016-04-12 18:37:07

Since, Adobe products decided to fuck us over with the whole subscription thing, I've compiled a list of some free animation softwares, their pros, and their cons.

------------------------------------
Pencil2D
---------------------------------------

PROS

- Easy and simple to use
- Does shading sorta well

CONS

- Crashes a lot
- Won't let you save

------------------------------------
Microsoft Paint, Windows Movie Maker (Or any other editing software)
-------------------------------------------------------

PROS

- Easy to use

CONS

- You have to try really hard
- A lot less features
- Doesn't shade very well
- If you don't try, it turns out shit

-------------------------------------------------------
Flipnote Studio
-------------------------------------------------------

PROS

- It's on the DSi system, so it's already like a drawing tablet
- Very easy to use
- Can be good quality
- There's a 3DS version (You can't get it anymore though)

CONS

- You have to already have it (If you don't, you cant get it anymore)
- There's a limit to the amount of frames you can use (999 Frames)
- Only has three different colours (Red, black, and blue)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this list was helpful!
And sorry if I fucked up on any of the spelling!

I remember there was already an Animation Resources Index thread or something. Here's another, older list of programs that can be used for animation and are either free or cheap: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1140737
Also I should add FlipaClip for Android, but it is limited to 3 layers maximum and has only 5 shades of gray. You can however pick any non-grayish color you desire which is good.
Should I mention Pivot here? Oh, and plasticanimationpaper.dk

Krita has an Animation tool in it, but right now it's kinda in the 3.0 Alpha.

Still Flipnote is fun to use when you arent using PC.

Cool

FYI, Flash CS2 does not exist. Macromedia Flash 8 predates Adobe Flash CS3 and there is nothing between them.
