Your timing is just off. Whenever people lose interest in a thread then they stop posting. Or they might want to say something but might not have the courage to post, or can't think of how to express in a way they think is good. Also I've made threads in forums that seem to not get attention or not get posted in but get resurrected a month or two later. It just depends on the content of the thread.
