Dark Souls Short Film

Hello all!

My name is Aigbe and I'm currently working on a Dark souls short and I thought it would be cool and insightful to show daily progress here on Newgrounds.

I can't reveal what the film will be about just yet but I will say that as a personal Souls fan myself, it will be worth watching. It won't be in a half-baked fanart style, rather it will reflect a professional quality found in studio produced anime. The final style will be reminiscent of the anime "Beserk", which I highly reccommend btw.

Furthermore, I'm only a one man team. So receiving feedback here will be of great help.

All work I post is created by me. Animations and Paintings alike.

Whoa, seems like you've got some intense fight scenes going.

Have you read the book: "Force: Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators" ?

I think it could be a good reference material for you as you're adding in the details on the characters.

Also, that background art looks very nice.

It's definitely not easy being a one-man army, making a single animation requires tremendous amount of work.

For the last one, I feel like after the person picks up the object, he should be turning to his right side instead of turning to his left?

If you want him to turn around from his left side,
then his left leg should move back first
> then body moves to face the direction where his left foot is pointing at
> when left leg is planted on the ground, right leg starts to follow that motion
> then both the body and right leg goes to the end position
> then his left foot should take a small step to rotate to face the direction the rest of the body is facing.

Just a suggestion. Animation is tough, but you're doing well so far, keep it up!

It sucks to have to redo anything, especially when it's something so time consuming like animation. Would it be worth the effort? Won't know unless you try right?

Thanks! I can see why the guy's actions seem unclear. When I add the enemies, it'll make sense.
