Scariest horror movie ever made?

I love watching horror movies but at the same time I get very jumpy afterwards usually followed by nightmares .

Personally I get scared by Japaneses horror movies . Japaneses versions of Pulse and One last Call I think they were called but I watched them in Japanese . Not to be mistaken with american adaptations .

Did you ever get really scared by a movie watching it alone . Any recommendations ?

( on a side note does anyone know the name of a horror movie where young guy escapes from his mother and then comes back later when she is dead and find that she had another young boy locked in basement many years and he became a killer ,I think it was german)

I don't get it. What does being a cat have to do with anything?

Cory in the House was terrifying. I couldn't sleep the entire night after watching it. Sometimes it still makes me anxious to think about it.

I have a question about zombies. How can they hear and see their prey when their organs are dead?

I like watching them a lot for the atmosphere, but unfortunately I never get spooked with any. I'm hoping REC will do it for me and make me flip, I heard it's pretty scary.

The last time a horror movie scared me was back when I was fourteen.
It was the movie called "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" that movie scared me as a kid but now its nothing.
I haven't been scared of Horror movies since.
I'm not sure if it's cause they're no longer quality or I'm bored of them.
I mean those "Paranormal Activity" movies were supposedly the scariest shit out there at their time.
They were boring like most horror these days.

"The Exorcist" was something that always terrified me when I first learned about it as a kid. Now that I'm an adult, it's safe to say that I can enjoy it more of how well acted it is, but it's still a great horror movie, if not the BEST ever made. I have only seen the first half, but it looks amazing from what I did see.

Cool thing about Exorcist is that most of the movie is a set up and only by the end it turns into horror movie . You just don't see movies like that anymore that don't count on jump scares every 2 minutes .
