I was doing my monthly water test volunteering when a group of teenaged black men, not that race has to do anything with it*, rode by on bikes.

The testing device measure dissolved O2, dissolved solids, pH, and similar factors.

It's essentially a cylindrical instrument housing connected via long electrical wire to the data screen.

You have to drop the instrument housing into the water, obviously.

So one of these educated young men thought that I was, with my partner, using an electrode to kill and harvest fish.

He started screeching how "THAT'S ILLEGAL" and "I'M CALLING THE COPS ON YOUR ASS" repeatedly.

I tried to politely tell him that I was doing testing and politely asked him to shut the fuck up, to which he replied;

"I'M CALLING THE COPS ON YOUR ASS"

The cops never showed up in the 15 minutes I remained on site, I suspect he never called because he was busy going to spraypaint graffiti on a historic landmark or something.

Regardless, I don't know why people have to be so stupid and ruin everything I try to enjoy doing.

a cop once pulled me over and questioned me for about 15 - 20 minutes about why i was out late at night (9:30????) and why i was where i was. When he finally handed me back my license and registration he told me my license plate light was out and to get it fixxed have a nice night blah blah blah.

It wasn't out i checked when i got back to my friends house.

And btw i wasn't speeding it was raining heavily i was doing 45 in a 55 zone due to bad weather and he was tailgating me, i went up to 50mph after a minute and kept driving. my friend was like man why does this asshole have to tailgate you so closely in shit weather. A few minutes later while still doing 50mph in a 55 zone he pulled me over.

I would go so far as to assume any job involving a pool or lake would be at least somewhat relaxing.

Yeah, all small cities are like that now. There's busy bodies everywhere playing police man because they have nothing better to do. I was on the beach a while ago, the only place where there is any privacy besides your home. I went into a secret spot hidden in the bushes for a J, and this idiot follows me in, lol. He asked me what I am doing, and I was ready to punch him, and he wiggled his way out.

The duplex I live in now with my mom the renters of the other side won't even let me listen to my new mini speakers, because they supposedly hear a lot of noise through my 3 inch speakers lol.

I always get stares though when I go out. But I've had enough. I plan on moving out into the country and buy a piece of land, and be done with these casuals once and for all.

We do three sites along the Niagara River

I don't remember the exact numbers but most sites were reading a DO% of about 113-120, temp varied from like 20-29 degrees Celsius, and a pH of about 7.3 I think.

It all was pretty normal, except for the last site, which was reading a turbidity of ~9.5 NTU, far above the ~2.5 at the other two sites.

It may not be a big deal or it may be, that's for the organization to decide and act on.

I notice there was a lot more algae at that site which is what's making the water fog anyhow. That site is the shallowest, but also happens to be across the street from the Dunlop-Goodyear plant my dad and brother work at... don't know if there's any correlation.

I think I recall them mentioning it usually is highest there but it's been awhile.

Me and some friends were pedaling back from someplace one night, and we pulled into a closed gas station, rode over the bell ringing hydraulic hose thingy a dozen or so times (dingdingdingding)... not knowing 2 people were inside the station, getting pissed off. My friends managed to escape, but one guy got right in front of me, grabbing the handlebars. threatening to call the cops, and taking down my name and address. His wife was just as indignant. Well pardon the blue fuck out of me for being a kid, you know?

What pissed me off more, was that my friends just pedaled off, not even waiting for me |: I've since worked in and around the public, and would've just yelled at the fuckers until they left, not been vindictive... it's not my fault they went out of business, the Russians own that station now.

I have had the cops called on me before, for pretty asinine reasons. I've also had cops randomly decide to harass me before. In all cases I handled it like a pro and just got off with a few warnings in the worst cases.

Really, let the person call the cops. Let the cops show up. Just handle it professionally when they do. As long as you act respectfully around them and as long as you're not being sketchy, they tend to cut you some slack. Just have a reason for everything you're doing and don't do anything illegal.

Even if you end up in court somehow, provided everything you did was legal, the judge will likely throw out a frivolous case anyway.

Yeah, it's a hassle but I'd say don't worry about it.

Whenever my dad passed through my grandparents' neighborhood he'd always get pulled over by the cops because his windows were too tinted.

I think they just wanted to do a random search for illegal drugs on you but they hesitated because it seemed improbable that you had possession of any illegal drugs.

At any rate, I bet you have the right to refuse searches of this kind. You are also not obliged to answer any question.

And no. I have never had any trouble with the law enforcement officers. People here aren't morons and I have never done anything that would raise suspicion.
