I have to agree with this. The regular series seems to be losing it's touch and I can't help but feel this might be one of the reasons why.

It was okay. Characters weren't the most likable, but episode 2 will probably have more action, so I'm sure it'll get better.

I didn't care for it. The conflicts between the characters seemed really contrived and the premise of it being the start of the zombie problem will spend itself a lot faster than they think.
I have nothing against people who can use pot and lead a productive life. It's these sanctimonius hippies that make me wish I was a riot cop in the 60's

Episode two and beyond will only be one hour. The 90 minute first episode, may of seem too long for most. Now that you know a little about the characters, they can make them more likable. You know there will be more walkers and violence.
