Plot holes in porn are typically derived from the contents of the "less plot, more action" style of the medium and this is seen as a sort of "stigma" within the community of said medium - a cliché, if you will.
While it is true that pornographic titles are typically burdened with a thin plot line, shabby acting, and editing that holds a bit of a "rushed" feel, one could say the same for a Michael Bay title. Does this ruin the movie as a whole? Generally speaking, no. You take this into consideration for a particular type of entertainment when you prepare yourself mentally to watch a cinematic feature of this nature, and in the end you have gotten what you sought to obtain. Whether this is a "more plot, less action" style of movie such as Memento or an action-heavy explosion-fest such as The Transformers.
With that said, is this acceptable to the common observer? Well, that's debatable. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, for example, was a fine cinematic example of a great balance of action, character development, and stunning visual effects all underneath the blanket of an expertly-executed narrative. This is something most of us can agree with. Pushing on, we must question whether this is acceptable in our cinematic experience. Clearly this balance can be achieved and achieved well as there have been very many movies that have accomplished this.
With our analysis of plot holes in porn, let's look at those three criteria in particular: action, character development, and visual effects. In the action department, one can not dispute pornographic films are jam-packed with action. One could almost debate that they are usually strictly action movies: a lot of interaction between characters, a lot happening on the screen at one time, usually for extended periods of time. Well that can't be it, so let's move on to character development.
What will happen to the pizza delivery guy once he returns to work without the 6 pizzas he set out to deliver and no money to show for it? Let's be honest: working as a delivery boy in a local pizza joint, he does not make the paycheck necessary to cover said pizzas out of pocket, and it is almost guaranteed his boss will fire him when he fails to produce the payment. At an average of even $10 a pizza, $60 may not sound like much but within the context of a local pizza emporium, management will see that $60 as a precious resource with which to pay their employees. If there is one cook on staff at the time of the delivery and he makes $8 an hour, then with simple math we can determine that said $60 delivery would have been $4 short of paying that cook's wages for his entire shift. What will become of the delivery boy? This is an area where the film could improve - character development and narrative. Why is the delivery boy willing to throw away his job for a mere half hour of unprotected intercourse with a stranger? Will he contract an STD? These are things that, as observers of the movie, we deserve to know.
What's more is, why can the woman not produce the $60 for her pizzas? Is she in a rough point in life, living paycheck to paycheck, and in a moment of weakness decided to hold a pizza party for her and her friends, knowing full-well she did not have the means to pay for the product monetarily? Why is she willing to offer her body for pizza? Does she do this with other areas in her life as well, such as fixing a plumbing or electrical problem? If this is something she commonly does, we should know more of her story. It seems if this is a regular thing she is single-handedly bringing down the local business economy one service at a time. Maybe it's a conspiracy set up by the big businesses in her town to bring the local guys down - I can't tell you because they haven't developed her story!
Consequently in the area of character development as a tool to lessen a plot hole, we can all agree that this is nothing more than lazy writing that the studio has let slide, no doubt to keep expenditure to a minimum in order to increase profit.
As far as the problems with plot holes in the medium of pornographic film, it seems character development and a narrative are to blame. The characters need to expand more upon themselves and let us know their story. A movie is nothing if we can't feel for the characters. We need to get inside them, we need to know them both physically and spiritually.
Or just ejaculate on their faces. Whatever.
