Battle of Gods was pretty cool at times, if you liked that movie you might like the new show.

I've always been on-off with DBZ. I fucking love Dragonball, but I'm picky about what I liked in DBZ. The thing I disliked the most was DBZ's lack of adventure. It baffles me how stories took place on other planets, in mystical worlds, and even in the afterlife, but every fight took place in a barren wasteland.
I also hate how Goku is always the hero and whenever he's too busy training to save the day, the Z fighters just stood around waiting for him. I think the worst instance of this was in Wrath of the Dragon where Trunks slices Hirudegarn's tail off, then Goku pushes Trunks aside to land the finishing blow. What a dick move.
While I'm hoping Dragonball Super can have the sense of adventure that Dragonball had, I certainly won't get my hopes up. I'd love for Tien's Tri-beam to actually be registered as an attack by an enemy for once. His Japanese VA died sometime around Yo! Son Goku & His Friends Return, so I'm going to assume he won't be fighting at all.
TL;DR: I'm expecting the worst in hopes that Super will surprise me.

I really missed Mark's old voice, too bad his original voice actor killed himself due to health problems several years ago.

My mother always forbid me to watch this series, when I was younger. When I watched years later this now, I got why. It's stupid, not funny and always the same. Only thing I like is the videogame series. I'm curious about which Saiyajin-Form he get's now, maybe #23 with rainbow hair.

Yeah, they make that always (!) in Shonen-Animes, that they give the main-person a female as a voice-actor. Even with Luffy or Naruto. I don't know if they prefer high voices over there. Sounds very gay to me.

This thread just keeps reminding me of the stupid rematch between Goku and Superman they're doing in Death Battle. I don't understand what Dragon Ball fans didn't understand about the quote "Superman is as powerful as he needs to be" from the first time around.

Oh the only show that I know of that has been milked to death even more than family guy and the simpsons.
They really pissed me off when they made Gohan weak just so the could continue to suck off goku.
I liked the first episode had a homey

I watched the first episode, IMO, it was pretty decent considering there was nothing going on really, though I'm going to wait for the English dub for now, the Japanese dub just sucks the moment we start hearing the screams and fighting.

I actually liked it, it's cool to see the characters relaxed and put into a slice of life pace. Videl seems wayyyyy tamed though, I'm missing her fiery personality.

let me clarify what I meant with Gohan-
his neck is skinnier. he has glasses. he wears slacks and work shirt. and the japanese voice actor sounding like a BIIIIIITCH didn't really do much for my opinion otherwise.
only good thing about Gohan is how happy he is with Videl. there's something poetic about a powerful person letting that power slowly go for the sake of being in love. Dragonball Z lacks good tragedy/character attachment because of all the Goku hob-nobbing, so I can get down. Gohan gets 7/10.
