Nexus Mechanics (must see 1st post)

One of the rules of the nexus is advanced realism. This is due to the fact how 'private' the nexus is meant to be.
One of the laws is that there's an official explanation vs an unnoficial.

Unofficial still mandates that that you understand and act on the system, but pretend you know nothing about this system in real life, along with any actions involving such. This post is to be treated as unofficial.

The 4 Core mechanics.

1. Points

This is the linking force between real life and the nexus system. Think of the points as a power trap for the most part. These points have a ranking system to represent stages of reputation, divided into 6 parameters that affect your scores, with a maximum ranking of 9(includes 0).

Keep in mind that there's a 'prime' mechanic. ONLY legalized primes can ever reach Rank 9, and only in one scoring mechanic as well.

a. Battle Parameter.

The ultimate form of strife for the most part. Battle indicates just how combat capable you are. One of the main mechanics of the nexus is that strife is legalized by actually battling in varying games, and this rating directly affects your capabilities in nexus certified games.

b. Economy Parameter.

This affects business when it comes to the nexus system. Put simply, it affects the prices for special abilities, equipments, and features in the nexus system, along with granting discounts on potential fines that other nexians impose on you. However, there's some restrictions involved with these as well:

#1 - If someone in the area has econ 4, in order to restore yourself in the place, you must either gain support from a nexian with econ 2 to restore/repair your assets & stats, or have at least econ 1.

#2(replaces 1) - If someone has econ 5 or higher in the area, it's even worse. For one, to even battle, you must have at least econ 1. Further, econ 2 is mandatory for repairing and restoring things. Item use is also severely restricted as well at this phase based on those who have econ 5 or higher.

c. Supremacy Parameter

supremacy is your power to control and be immune to artifacts. In the nexus, artifacts are the real source of power, and MUST be obeyed no matter what, but loopholes are legal. Keep in mind that ORIGINAL artifacts have the ability to combine with other originals to create even stronger powers, some of which can and will be by far too powerful to be tolerated, possibly even by the highest of nexians. (for example, I have the power to CREATE ARTIFACTS)

d. Leadership Parameter

This parameter affects not only all the other ratings, reducing their potency, but with the right to apprentice others into the nexus, it also affects just how many people you can enter into the nexus at any given time via the mechanics of the system. I am the leadership prime.

e. Shroud Parameter

This is the biggest factor how 'realism' is managed In the nexus. Imagine if you will 2 OFFICIAL realities. One your actually living now, and one that crosses between gaming and real life. The shroud is the ethereal force that represents that realism, but the catch here is that the shroud affects just how you MUST perceive the cross-over actions involving the nexus. The higher the rating on shroud, thus, the more favorable even the most abusive actions will be in your favor.

f. The Gates

The nexus has the power to link not only to real life, but to actual games. Gates are the means how people cross between games and the nexus for the most part. Due to advanced realism, you must properly cross those gates either by honorable roleplaying or by actually entering them in official battle games in the first place.

Keep in mind that higher rankings in this only serve to let you control who enters/exits the gates in the first place.

2. Artifacts

(see part c about artifacts as well)

Whenever a new game opens up to the nexus, an original artifact in relation to the nature of that game also emerges. The only exception to this rule is when the pertaining original artifact already exists.

As said, artifacts have absolute power. It's impossible, except by supremacy, to overcome those sacred products. Further, as said, originals can merge to create logical advanced combos based on their natures.

3. Gates

As said, these are the crossing points between games and real life in relation to the nexus system.
Pretty much cross these gates where applicable, and that's all to it. The reason for gates is to have a more effective defense against invaders.

4. Shroud

For the most part, this shroud could be seen like the myst involving Percy Jackson, affecting how those who are not certified nexians perceive nexian actions.

There's a very good reason why the shroud mechanic must exist. Think of it as the barrier for justified and unjustified strife. While the shroud affects how you PERCIEVE the actions done with the nexians, there's a serious loophole. If a person exceeds either your comprehension or your respect for those actions via the shroud, he must become more and more invisible to you - literally, unless tempered with other point ratings to back that up.

To me, it's a whole lot better than any system a community may contrive.
