Hello everyone,
I just joined Newgrounds. I studied drawing and painting for a few years when I was a kid, but it has been 14 years since I was seriously painting.
Recently I decided to renew my passion and bought a digital tablet, as my current situation does not allow me to mess around with watercolor or oil.
The attached image is my first time painting a colored portrait.
The subject is "Madam White Snake", who is a well-known figure in Chinese legend. The portrait was based on actress Angie Chiu's insanely popular version of the TV series.
Madam White Snake turned into human from a white snake after 1000 years of practice. She came to the human world to return the favor of a boy who saved her life when she was young and decided to marry him. However, it was resisted by monsters, monks and gods...
It was painted in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro using a Bamboo Create Tablet. I was mainly trying to explore how to paint faces, so the whole subject matter is not very creative and the body is not as detailed.
Please give me some feedback and help me improve! Much appreciated!
