Character Stats You Prefer? 2015-05-07 18:52:41

When playing a fighting game or an RPG, what character stats do you prefer?

The character stats are:

* Health/Stamina points (HP)
* Attack points
* Defense/Endurance points
* Special Attack points
* Special Defense points
* Speed points
* Luck/Critical Hit points
* Mana/Move/Magic points
* Agility points
* Etc.

I prefer high health points, good defense, and high attack. I don't care much for speed or mana/magic points. I'm lukewarm when it comes to special attack points and special defense points.

In an RPG, dex/agility is always the most important for me. After that, it largely depends on the system, but dps is generally pretty vital. For fighting games my preference is in a constant flux between fast hitters and brute force chargers.

In Fallout game I've always favored the speech related skills, because I like to make a character that end conflicts as peacefully as possible even in a world as fucked as the one Fallout takes place in.

Always liked to make characters that focus on taking the least violent path to solving an issue.

HP and attack. I like to have high HP and attack so I can just quickly attack enemies and get the random battle over with without worrying about dying.

It depends on the battle system. If it's an action RPG then I prefer a nimble character who can string together lots of combos. If it's turn based, then I'll go for a bulky character that takes hard hits and dishes them as well.
If there's a wide selection of spells (and more varied than attack, stronger attack, strongest attack) then I might go with a character with decent attack and high magic. But if the only way to refill magic is with mana potions, then I won't bother.

I'd prefer the stats used in TES 4 Oblivion simply so I can do crazy, half continent spanning moon jumps. (shit video, but it shows what I mean.)

It would also make stealth easy as fuck once you get it high enough. I always go for a very agile, stealthy assassin type.

RPG- Health, attack, luck.
Fighting- Attack, speed, agility.

Hmmmm
+200 hp
+Health regain by being not active (etc. not moving or shot at)
+Takes a low precentage of health by his own explosives
+Immune to lasers
and the most important thing to be an explosion class

Auto health regen at all times would be superior.

Yes it would be OP but I mean something like Killzone, like when you dont move and dont have bullets holes in yourself you will regen your health

Depends on the RPG. Some are more useful than others. In most luck does absolutely nothing of value. In Final fantasy speed increases you ATB regen. It varies. I prefer speed/agility, endurance, and if normals suck i'd prefer special attack points. If all speed does is increase your chance of dodging i'd rather invest in defense, that way I have a guaranteed line of defense, as opposed to a luck based one.

I also like to do mage builds so lots of mana points. Though not usually the case, if I can do it, I would give my mage lots of agility so I can run away considering they tend to have low health.

In fighting games I like to use fast characters. Usually the ninja ones. I mained Ibuki in Street Fighter, Taokaka in Blazblue, Chipp in Guilty Gear, etc.

I'm just a dreamer.

It varies depending on the genre.

In a fighting game I prefer mobility and damage. I feel I can make pretty good reads, so I'm willing to sacrifice defense as long as my character can respond as fast as I can and chain a counterattack into some good damage. Unless we're playing a game like Marvel Vs Capcom 3 where you get hit once and then comboed until you die, in that case I need a little more HP.

In an RPG it's different. You can play the most agile thief class, pumping everything you can into evasion, and you're still only going to get to dodge 1 out of every 30 attacks or so (unless it's something like Bravely Default where you have abilities that force an evade). So in turn-based rpgs and the like I usually favor either a powerful caster or an all-arounder. Usually either the main character or the bratty mage boy that most players hate.

I normally prefer Agility, Speed and Special Attack Points however it is mostly dependent on the game system and which stats will benefit me most.

Agility and Speed are great in most games. Special attack is okay, but attack is always king.

Not going to matter if the enemy can't hurt me :P

The only issue would be a potential for defensive struggles if I ran into another enemy with really high defenses.
