I've recently finished the RPGMaker gem LISA that recently saw a steam release not too long ago.
I have nothing but praise for this game. In so many ways it tears at my emotions.
What is LISA? It is a dark rpg set in a post apocalyptic world where only men are left, yet somehow there is humor and surrealism abound.
Why is it good? Thematic and consistent storytelling told through making difficult decisions over the course of your journey. The player feels pity for Brad (The MC) at first, but as the game goes on the player is left confused and unsure what to feel.
Multiple endings done well and an incredibly unique soundtrack are two highlights worth mentioning.
This isn't just an Earthbound inspired cheap RPGMaker game, it's something more. Give it a try.
