There are some benefits to not masturbating for certain periods of time.

While this article does mention that there are benefits to masturbating, it should be noted that there definitely benefits to abstaining from the act. Those benefits might simply be nothing more than psychological (More of a placebo effect than anything else), but they can exist. I've known plenty of people who have gone without masturbating and have said that they felt better if for no other reason than that they were accomplishing something and were getting positive feedback from a community that supported their abstinence.

All I'm saying is that it's a bit far to call it a load of horseshit in its entirety. There are SOME benefits to the act of not masturbating.
