Simply by implying that you might take your life at some point, you can get enough peoples attention to make new friends. Or get your old friends talking to you again.
I've seen at least two examples of this, and frankly it works.
My interest in said person immediately goes up.

You are absolutely correct. We should stop paying attention to suicide threats since these are baits.

Better to have friends that are your friend because they like you and not just take pity on you.
