hey guys it's me i was just wondering if dogs think we're idiots

because i was just thinking how you take a dog for a walk, and you bring along what they must think is your favourite rubber red ball, and then you go into a field and lob it into the distance, preferably into a bush or something, and you carry on walking assuming the dog will go and get it

and i was just thinking from the dog's p.o.v that's point of view that this probably seems really dumb. like

"dude! you did it again"
"dude don't tell me you didn't notice that"
"hey wait you accidentally a-lobbed your favourite red ball into the bush again. dude!"
"ffs, *makes exasperated expression and runs off to get the ball for him "right, here you are mate just be more careful thi- [guy lobs the ball back into the bush] ARE U FREAKING KIDDEN ME?"

some kids not older than like 8 years old just rang the doorbell and asked me if their dad's white t-shirt was in my garden. had to assume they were taking the piss, so set the dog on them. but i'm a bit confused. it's a bit of a mystery anecdote, this one.

On the other hand, my dog also thinks it's a good idea to run to the carpet whenever she is about to throw up.
Maybe it's considered intelligent in the dog world though.
