I have recently been told by someone, to put it in a nicer way that "NewGrounds is 4Chan's dumber younger brother that doesn't know what to do with it's self and although it's a lot more pro about the items it puts up I don't trust it because it's still way to close to 4Chan."

Tell them that the BBS is a small part of Newgrounds, the real meat and potatoes are the games and movies. And audio. And art.

Tell them NG pioneered the way for all communities with automated user-submission systems, is four years older than 4chan, doesn't purge content on a regular basis, supports all types of submission formats, boasts a collective array of creative artists of which the likes the rest of the net has never seen and has a pretty dedicated community too.
