This is what i've been trying to do since i made my account and so far i've only been successful on two occasions.
Most of the time when i talk about Newgrounds and about the good games, movies, art and music it has they usually don't care because they'd prefer to go to a more mainstream site for each category; Youtube for movies/music, DeviantArt for art, SoundCloud for music and Steam for games.

I find it really frustrating that their excuse for not even giving Newgrounds a chance is because "it's not popular enough" or "never heard of it so it must be shit".
Maybe this is just because of the country i live in, in Portugal not that many people know about this site so they don't use it but from what i've heard in several other threads in the USA they don't use Newgrounds because it's associated with the porn animations of the past.

Does anyone have any tips on how i can convince people to join this site? Any past experiences you might've had while trying to do so?

A good majority of the friends I've shown the website have either A.) Already seen it, or B.) Enjoy it and play games there after. For the most part, people just aren't interested in being a part of a forum community. They like the games and movies you can see here, but the idea of a forum just doesn't seem to appeal when they want to talk to people they know in real life, and it is instant through IM.

They are interested in a lot of the things that exist on this site like Jazza's videos, Madness Combat, a lot of the art that's on both Newgrounds and DeviantArt, they just don't give NG a chance because they never heard of it.
I'm not really trying to convince them to join the BBS, most of them would think that this is their own personal blog, i'm just trying to get them to check some of the stuff here because there are stuff that they like and maybe get them to make an account so they'll be more likely to return later.

Told them and tried to show it but like i said, they'd rather watch movies and such on Youtube than try to watch something here.

I really don't try to advertise this site. Seems all cheap and Great Pumpkin-esque.

NG is (or at least was) up there in popularity. Didn't know there was a need.

I've shown a few friends Newgrounds, some of them knew of it before I told them. There is plenty of content here you can dazzle your friends with such as 'Africa Dudes'

I've tried in the past. Main reason people don't stick around is (surprise surprise) the lack of an actual mobile version of the site.

I remembered I introduced my friend to NG, he made an account just for playing some games and private messaging me. But nowadays he's busy.

I don't really think it's necessary? I mean all the people I know who might possibly be interested in Newgrounds already know about it and play games/watch movies on Newgrounds even if they don't have accounts. And the rest of the people I know wouldn't be interested.

It seems to do the self-selecting job well-enough.
