Jesus christ, your probably thinking. Final Fantasy Seven? YOUR SO OUTDATED
GO HANG YOURSELF
..No. But- It's back! With advent children, which looks very appealing and alluring to the eyes. But since with the outcoming of FF:AC lets revive FF7 in general. What party did you use? Know any good Materia combos? Whos your favorite character? Did Cait Sith serve any purpose other then being a malicious fat doll, working for Shinra Inc?
If I was cait sith, with these amount of posts; I'd be able to... DO NOTHING. YAy. Post your input below, or die.

I'm playing it again right now and my party is Level 80 Cloud, Level 77 Barret and Level 76 Cid. Best materia combo would have to be Final Attack-Phoenix, automatically casts Life2 on the whole party and deals 5000 damage when you die. Favorite character is Vincent. Cait Sith sucks, blows and swallows. 26 days left until Advent Children!!!!!

Best Materia combos I've come up with are
Master Command plus Final Cut, and have a mastered 4x cut equipped also. = 4x cut + 1 extra cut so that would be 5X cut.
Then we have
Counter Attack + Counter Attack + Counter Attack + Counter Attack + Counter Attack + Counter Attack + Knights of Round paired with MP Absorb and another Knights of Round paired with HP Absorb. = Get hit once, counter attack 6 times, then summon Knights of Round and regain all your HP and MP. Really I only ever used it on Emerald, but it does come in handy I'll tell ya what.
Party of choice was always:
Cloud
Cid
Barret
Kthxbye

By this is mean he'd do 7777 damage until the enemy died. Of course this didn't work on the weapons though,

Spammed the Lucky 7 did ya? But I thought after the battle, the character's hp goes back to 1? How did you always get 7777 hp?

What about Youffie and Cait Sith? The two most completely useless characters in any RPG ever made. I threw both of their best weapons at minor enemies.

My best party was Cloud, Vincent, and Tifa. All at their level 4 Limit Break, all of the ultimate weapons, Cloud had Apocalypse, most of my materia was mastered, and I killed everyone that stood in my way. No, Cait Sith did nothing for me. Stupid, fluffy basard.

All great strategies; But my team was Cloud, Cid, Vincent. I don't know why vince, he seemed to hit the most, and his transformations kicked serious ass if you casted haste or beserk on him. My favorite materia combo was counter-attack 2x cut

Meh. I would use Cloud, Aeris/Yuffie, Red....I dunno why....I strive for speed....and I went for the Multiple Counter Attack and KotR + HP Ab on Cloud and Final attack + Phoenix on Yuffie....so I had BOTH! Yuo loose.

Party of choice:
Cloud
Yuffy
Cid
Reasons.....Clouds final limit break is the best and you cant not have him in your party.
Yuffies Doom of the living is very similar to Omnislash, therefore she stays in my party.
Cids, final limit Highwind is prolly second best in the game next to Clouds.
Materia ??? Final attack Revive, always the best, mastered and equiped to all three party members. Also, Nemessis, wouldnt a master command + added cut just make slash all + an extra attack ? W-Summon + Knights of the Round, and mimed until the fucks buried. Added effect + Contain = Quite a few mad side effects for the enemies you hit.
Advent Children will be excellent, i will certainly purchase a copy when it is released over here.

My choice is mostly Cloud - Tifa - Vincent. However, I don't really go for the best materia combinations or whatsoever. I have already beaten Ruby Emerald with Knights of the Round on level 2 and Hades, and I know I can take on Emerald... I just need to find the materia that allows me to breathe under water.
...it was materia, right?

Morph a ghost ship underneath the water when your going for the submarine. Then take it to the old man in Kalm and he will give you the underwater materia.

To be more specific, Go under Junon until you reach that subterranean base with the glass hallways just before the junon reactor where you fight that robot-
Theres a ship, with a skelly paddling in the front, who will bat your party out of battle, and use an attack called St. Elmos fire which really hurts if your ill equipped. You'll want to keep checking him with your scan materia (I don't even know what its called anymore) to make sure hes around 300 hp give or take, then skip turns until you hit the desired member with the morph ability, and use it- in attempts to morph him into an item called; Lost book of something. Once your finished that- I usually beat the weapon, play the sub minigame surface, go through all the little in-game cinematics with the characters talking about the plot, and dock at Junon. I don't know if you have the Airship or not then specificly, but I think you do. Fly to Kalm (the town beside Midgar) and go into the house on the far right, and up the stairs to meet this strange dude guarding a chest- Offer him the book and he'll give you the underwater materia. Beat the emerald weapon, and come back and he'll give you something else. Beat ruby weapon and he'll give you a gold chocobo. Cool eh?

Sure man, but I don't mean through spam. I mean through curiously suggestive comments and opinons - I hate it when people write three word posts too. I'll my best not to do so myself.

Party was 99 Cloud, 99 Cid, and 99 RedXIII (so what, I liked him).
I maxed out while fighting the jars in the final cave.
Weird materia combos, I didn't have too many good ones other than Phoenix + Final Attack. Other ones that I had were Quadra Magic + Ultima and Quadra Magic + Bahamut ZERO. Of course, those were used about midgame for me. They went obsolete real quick.
I was more fond of FFVI because I thought it had a better storyline. I don't care about the graphics, I just liked the characters more than I did in any other Final Fantasy.
If anyone plays FFXI and is on Unicorn Server, send a message to Zeratul.

Aeris had some nifty limits if you took the time to level her up alright. She kicked the temples ass with great gospel. HaHa DemOnWaLL -Pwn-
For disc 2 and 3 I can't really remember I think it was cloud, red, and Barret.....
Each character were good in their own way, everyones got their own preferences - their own style of fighting. But to me, I hated Red and barret, i dont know why.

I used barret, cloud, and tifa the most.
my fave materia combo was final attack + phoenix, it revived everyone, and hurt the enemy pretty damn bad too.

Isnt it glitchy though? Its ok to experiment with that, but don't use cheats - it only ruins the game.
