9 years going strong have you ever #stopandthunk how much money the internet and its subsidiaries (Newgrounds, Facebook) have made off of your accumulated misery they're commercialising unhappiness now we can't even be shit at life in peace and that's just how it's going to be

No, because money is just a human invention used to help make trade easier between two or more parties and is constantly changing in value. Also, I think more about how humanities going to involve in the future and how we're going to get off this rock and explore the universe and maybe even multiverse and money will be the least of our problems at that point.

Accumulated misery?

This makes me wonder why all the sad no-lifes flock to the internet, in a sociological sense.

I feel like the internet a few years ago catered to the angsty, miserable, older teens. Before then it catered to people who had common interests and could share and communicate ideas with eachother throughout the world - it's intended purpose. Now the internet is for kids, dank memes ane the lolz.

Not in your lifetime.

Maybe not even "we" unless you get your rocks off.

I meant we in the all of humanity sense, not me included sense. Like how historians refer to humanity as "We were once just slack-jawed chimps slinging shit at each other for thousands of years until evolution came in and made us invent civilization".

So many companies are using it now. I get a few messages from head hunters a month, so I could see it being useful if someone is looking for a job in certain fields (like technology).

Unless someone gets a dollar for every time I reply to a retarded youtube commenter, unless site owners still make money from my clicks even though I have ghostery and adblock, or unless there's a machine siphoning my anxiety and converting it into money, I doubt anyone's commercializing off my misery.

Either way, it makes no difference to me so long as they're not taking money out of my pocket.

Well, they're doing a pretty bad job at it since I'm always happy when I'm online. I'm sensing a negative ROI.

Yep, just another bellyaching from the master of bellyaching bullshit on the forums. The fact that you are complaining about places like NG are commercializing perceptions of misery means that you are still full of shit, it's almost funny on how absurd that truly sounds.

If you are that concerned about some commercialized boogeyman over the Internet, then maybe you should go outside and play.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
