I can't find anywhere to login, and I have to log in to get a search window to find the game I want. This has become really difficult!

You seemed to have found ONE way to login, so that's a start. Normally, the things you asked for are at the top of the website on the left and right. I've illustrated below.
You don't need to login to search either. Just click where it says "Forums" and select what you want to look for...
