I'm thinking of getting maschine mk2. I don't do a lot of electronic/sampled music but I think it might be a nice tool to have. Is it worth getting? What are some of your experiences with it?
I'd be using it with Logic Pro X.

Yes. I've done a lot of virtual instrument type stuff before (classical, jazz, rock oriented) but not 'beats'.

Currently working with an Axiom 61 mk2. Had a M-Audio Keystation 88 but I'm getting rid of it.
On the software side...I've got logic x, pro tools, kontakt 5, massive, and will be upgrading to komplete 10 ultimate next month.
