Don't go to corporate labels. They steal all your content, and just give you some money for it.

nope... I was signed to Sony.

They do not steal anything.... you sign an agreement.. you get paid for your PRODUCT, you r songs. If you are smart, you will have a great Publishing Deal as well as a merchandising deal... but let's get back to music directly.

the label pays for your music to get out to the people and sometimes they get your music placed within soundtracks and get the music licensed for commercials.

They put their $$$ into making more out of it. You get a percentage of this. Generally not a great one, which is why you have a ton of other projects as well as having the merch and publishing deals.
