To any geek here on Newgrounds, just how accurate or off-the-mark is this chart on "The Geek Hierarchy"?

How would you define "The Geek Hierarchy"? Are there any perks to being a geek?

i lol'd.

They don't have regular literature geeks on there, though; just sci-fi/fantasy. People like me, who use semicolons, should probably appear on that list.

I think they counted that as Furries.

IMO Video gamers should have an arrow leading away to all other boxes. I find that most non-RPG gamers consider their addiction entirely normal and not geeky in any manner.

I was under the impression that being a geek is universal and not a means to an end. Only requirement is to be obsessively enthusiastic and knowledgeable about a certain topic, usually one that is not a part of the general pop culture, and usually to the point that social responsibilities have been neglected.

For example, I'm a weather geek. But can also be called a weather nerd.

Though people often fight tooth and nail to make sure geek and nerd are not grouped together, similarly, the term nerd refers to someone who is socially awkward and/or buried in their studies, as well as someone who is knowledgeable about a certain field or topic.

I do not find this chart very accurate. At least, as it applies to myself and other geeks I know.

I find the chart pretty humorous and accurate.

And if anyone is wondering why bronies aren't on here, this chart was made in 2002. Look in the bottom left corner.

It's not really "dehumanizing" them so much as just "putting them in their place"

below everyone else

I don't often find myself prancing about in a fursuit, so please don't relate me to those who do. They're ... strange.

While we're at it i'd like to ask something, is a dork the same as a geek? I never quite understood it.

Fuck no. Except maybe having more chances with "geek" girls.

As far as I understand it, a dork is more akin to a loser.
