There's been some talk in the the tinychat about various users considering trips to the US this year (@Lucky, @Legolass, @Test-Object), and we'd like to open up the possibility of an art meetup in DC or Philadelphia. Who's interested? Druthers on where/when/how?

I've never been to a meetup. Do you actually do anything besides meet up? Will there be booze? When that booze is gone will there be more?
Still no idea what the plan is for picoday, seen as its roughly a 12 hour trip, I would like to stay for a couple if not three weeks rather then a few hours or days. not to mention the costs involved. at this moment in time i am unsure as to make a solid commitment on "yes i will be there" or "no i wont".
2016 would definitely better for me if we're only planning one for the foreseeable future as I will be 21 and able to enjoy the East Coast to its fullest, that said if by popular demand we do it in 2015 I will do everything in my power to make it.
I'd be game. Both cities are about the same drive for me, but I'd prefer Philly. A meetup would be awesome, you guys can update me on everything I've missed out on :D Such as the edit button... since when has there been an edit button for BBS posts? I feel so out of touch...

And to other questions, if it's our event we can put as much drinking and collaborative art projects or whatever as we want, though we should probably offer alternatives for youngsters. When? Dunno. Pico Day is late April. Also Kashi is off being amazing at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and i'd think we could bully her into joining us.

What EDIT button?...the only thing i see is "edit signature"...if theres an edit button for changing posts i would like more information on this!!

I would be down to go as long as some one was able to hold my hand when we cross the streets. The big cities are no place for a young impressionable boy like me to be alone in.
But in all seriousness I would love to be able to finally meet the faces to the names and maybe do some crazy creative stuff with friends in the real life.
I don't have the budget to support transatlantic travelling quite yet. Anywhere within Europe is good though.
I might be able to travel to the states autumn 2016 but that's very tentative

2016 would be a cool time-frame for that, more do-able for me anyway. I'd be down for something like this. :D
2015 wouldn't be bad, but there's a big chance I couldn't make that.. being on the other end of the country and all.

I've not a lot of preference since I'm local, but for the sake of being decisive I'd say Pico Day makes the most sense (to maximize the people you meet, though who knows if there'll be any kind of official Pico Day in 2016) and I'm hearing a consensus that 2016 is a bit better.
Or I can be wrong, let me know. Do we care about meeting non art regs? Gumby, does it have to be autumn?

2016 is very grey area to me I've no idea where I'll be. I'm looking for somewhere to study after summer 2016 so I could potentially end up near philly but just as might end up in the far east.
In all probability I won't make it though, so don't let that interrupt any plans!
To be honest if there were to be a meetup in the states La would probably be the best place to do it. There are plenty of art related events that happen like CTN where tons of people from art communities get together and network. That sort of gives more reason to travel here and meetup since its a great opportunity to hand around your portfolio, not to mention the sweet after parties where you can also network, but to drunk people.
Just my recommendation. In my experience when lots of artists from online communities meetup, they choose la because its a huge tourist area and has the most going on there art-wise.

What makes LA a good location for this event in particular? Networking is great, but I'm pretty sure our aim here is to connect with people we already know. What touristy things does LA offer?
