Congrats to Edmund for his continued success with Gish! For anyone who hasn't been on the site very long, Edmund is a Newgrounds contributor who recently released a PC game about a little blob of ooze called Gish. Here is what the press has been saying!

"A Little Getaway: Small, Simple, Fast and Fun... (gish) proves that a simple idea can be elaborated upon with terrific results."
-New York Times

"Gish succeeds on many levels. From the splash-page movie parodies to your character's controls, Gish has a style all its own"
-Download.com 4/5

"Gish makes for a very enjoyable “old-school” romp... that can only be described as “unique”."
-Gamingnexus.com 8.7/10

"Without a doubt Gish is one of the best games that has come out in a long time and it easily becomes the first game of 2004 that we award a 10 to."
-Gametunnel.com 10/10

"Gish has surpassed my expectations and in fact turned out to be the most enjoyable and creative platform game I've played in the past years. On any system. Even beating the superb Viewtiful Joe on my list."
-Gamerswithjobs.com

If you haven't caught the Gish bug yet, go download the free trial! You'll love it!

Damnit....you beat me to it >:(

Oh well, the game looks sweet and I can't wait to play it. I really should get the demo and read up on it more, from the pictures I have seen though, it looks awesome.

Does it matter? Having the first reply doesn't mean anything.

I just wish my computer had something better than a Pentium II processor with 400 MHZ. Apparently I need 1 GHZ for it to play smoothly.

I bought my copy when it as available for buying. Like almost the day it was out.
It is too fucking crazy.
No stupid animated rolling balls, no stupid animated cubes falling. Just real and raw physics.
You should also check out other games by chronic logic, like bridge construction set (pontifex II), these are fun and increadily realisitc too!
Hehe

Although its fun, and got good review which im happy for, it does not surpass PS2 & XBOX games. IT could have came out for the gamecube though, hah. Good game.

C'mon Tom... you know you want that on consoles... after AH is done, can you pull some strings and help get it under behemoth and which ever publishing company publishes AH?

If it were on a console there could be online play and 'easy' 4 player support (of course the computer version could have the same internet idea {already has 4 players})

Good job you pedi-necro-philiac. = ]

My congratulations to Edmund!
I expect the same, if not, better with Alien Homonid.

Response to Gish Praise 2004-06-11 20:13:20

Seems I need to add another game on my Buy/Play list.

Response to Gish Praise 2004-06-11 20:24:36

Seems like the press liked it. The trial version is good to but not as good as the full version i bet.

Response to Gish Praise 2004-06-11 20:34:27

Woah, system requirements WAY too high on that one for me :/

Dead.

Response to Gish Praise 2004-06-11 20:35:17

Gish was a very fun game. The only thing is, its kinda hard to beat..........

Response to Gish Praise 2004-06-11 20:49:18

i have hte full version, and its awesome, but its pretyt hard. like on 3-2 i had like 1 life left and i died two more times and i had to go back to 3-1...and for some reason in multiplayer if two ppl use the keyboard the controls get locked...in the gish demo it never did that for some reason. its fun though. the only good multiplayer modes are pit fight and sumo...dragster is extremely stupid, football is ok, and greed is...stupid, but not horrible. what i like doing is making grey get on top of me in sumo, then oding heavy with gish and launching him up! same with the baddies and blocks and stuff. its really fun! lol.

I have the game too and like most people i couldnt get past level 3 without getting dropped in lava, run over by a mine cart and appear on top and sticking to it, squished by blocks, or getting stuck in spikes but the best part about dying is the way it looks with the physics. Muti player is a blast(especially gish fusion where you get inside another gish and take control of him it looks awesome!)and i reccommend this game.

I've only found 2 secrets. When I heard the word secret, I crapped my pants because I didn't know where it came from.
