Germany's Dr. Reinhard Rauball has threatened that the European League (UEFA) will quit the FIFA world cup if FIFA does not publish the full report about FIFA's world cup bidding process penned by attorney Michael Garcia. Ethics committee judge, Hans-Joachim Eckert had summarized the report in saying that Russia and Qatar had done nothing wrong or illegal and that Sepp Blatter ran a wonderful process. Garcia, the writer, vehemently disagrees with this interpretation.

FIFA has been dogged by increasing allegations of corruption for many years and it appears this may be the last straw. It would be hard to see how they could credibly hold the world cup with none of the European teams in attendance, assuming UEFA makes good on its thread. At the same time it would be hard to imagine FIFA coming clean about their corruption, since it would almost certainly force many senior officials to resign in disgrace. I guess we'll just have to see who blinks first.
