Good for people who cared?
The point, which seems to have been missed, was that America sent someone in to kill him (rightfully) why does the identity matter at all? If anything that takes away from it now that people are going to whine about the person in question and ruin his life rather than the country.
Retarded.

I have nothing but respect for him for the years of service he's given our country but this was a bad move. This is the definition of attention you don't need.
In part of the article his father says he'll paint a target on the door if Isis wants to get him. Terrorists are not Willie Coyote. None of it is that simple. I hope nothing happens but the whole reason this is a story we know now is that the navy themselves told him this was a bad idea.

seriously, in the last years of his life, osama wasnt even such a bad guy anymore.. he lost control of his organization pretty much iirc, he wrote a letter saying he didnt want his son to join al qaeda, he was only hiding out where he was cause the whole world was out to get him..
wtf are you thinking people? that somehow you're any different than he used to be? get real. you just killed a changed man.

Very disrespectful move as a SEAL. I was expecting to never know who made the shot until the guy died.

You do notice that he was still responsible for 9/11, right? It's pretty much impossible to forgive someone who orchestrated so many attacks against innocent people, whether or not he had control of Al-Qaeda before he died is irrelevant. I hate to invoke Godwin's law here, but Hitler was still a part of Nazi Germany even after he died and when they went down the tubes when the Russians thrashed Berlin. Don't try to defend mass murderers just because they have some sort of revelation about what they did.

Bin Laden was still a mass murdering terrorist who was still plotting attacks in that compound. Defending Bin Laden is like defending Hitler, Saddam or Timothy Mcvey (the OKC bomber) with their crimes, you just don't do it and the world is better off when they are killed.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

seems like it would be a bad idea to identify yourself as the killer of Bin Laden when there are still so many people in this world that looked up to him
but at the same time, in this day and age it was only a matter of time before the soldier's identity would be leaked by someone else.
also a theory: maybe the military did something to piss him off and he's decided to get revenge by fucking up their code of conduct (this is just an idea)

It's been three years since Osama was killed and yet you make a thread about the Navy SEAL being revealed? Why?

Actually, you are right on one thing. OBL was a reformed man, when American hot lead entered into Bin Laden by the Navy SEALs.
As for the person who killed Osama, he made a huge mistake doing what he did, and the military has every right to be upset about it right now. Eventually though, they'll will forget all about this and simply just move on, considering that it was going to be found out sooner or later, to not give them the credit would be disingenuous.
Plus, I'm sure that in some bar, he'll probably never have to pay for drinks again if he decides to go there.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

still tho america kills many innocent people, the soilders are not considered terrorists but the country drops nukes.
But anything that happens to them is terrorism. Ofcourse bin laden is wanted and all but im just saying that he was a murderer, and got killed by the enemy, now the killer (or u ppl call it "savior") will be hunted by the enemy, eye for an eye.

Because for three whole years no one knew who was the one who shot and killed Osama until now.

So? Why would anybody care about the people who killed Osama Bin Laden that day? The people who killed him were on America's side. It's not like that it needs to be founded out who was the killer ever since the day of Osama's death.

Meanwhile in The Netherlands.
Cool story tho. Hope he doesn't get too much negative attention from the wrong people, if it wasn't him it would have been some other Navy Seal, whoever got the order to shoot.

it's not like i want the soldier bumped off or anything, an eye for an eye and the world will be blind... but they do need to realize that they're no different from the people they kill. our army, just like our police force, is too self righteous, and needs to be taught a lesson.
it's not helping matters at all that to avoid them getting ptsd, their shrinks indoctrinate them further by reassuring them it isnt their fault. society made people who they are. it's their responsibility to fix their mistakes properly.
people cannot just ruin or end the lives of others and get off with a clear conscience, and be endorsed by society for doing so.

How cute, a naive little boy tries to talk politics and thinks he knows about history. There's still a lot for you to learn when it comes to certain things like warfare and why there's a line between that and terrorism. Things don't work the way you want to and with a given time, you'll know the reason why.

im not talking about politics or history, just humanity. ofc "i still need to learn", but point of views at different aspects helps solve problems.

Except in this particular case, what you're suggesting isn't going to work however.

Not as many as as terrorists or rogue nations who kill civilians on a whim, not to mention that they do it on purpose and often make it an objective to do so. Nukes are irrelevant, as there has only been 2 dropped during war since 1945, and have nothing to do with the discussion at hand.
But anything that happens to them is terrorism. Ofcourse bin laden is wanted and all but im just saying that he was a murderer, and got killed by the enemy, now the killer (or u ppl call it "savior") will be hunted by the enemy, eye for an eye.
That doesn't work that way idiot. Don't try and play semantics here, Bin Laden had to be stopped and he was stopped, any attempt at revenge will fail (as in getting to him) and they know it. You don't get to tell who's the terrorist and who is not, because the answer is right in front of us this whole time. Go troll somewhere else.
