So, do you have any plans on celebrating the occasion? I plan on doing a Godzilla movie marathon (I'm debating if I should include 1998 Godzilla).
Also, there's a 60th anniversary music festival.

these forums never have enough Godzilla discussion
why do you hate Godzilla, NG?
As for "celebrating", Ryanson and I were already planning to watch the original together so I suppose that'll work even if it wasn't intended as celebration. Maybe I'll have a viewing of vs Megalon all on my own too, that one has a special place in my heart.

Can't help but notice one notable absence from that itinerary.
Happy 60th Birthday Godzilla! Make sure you take time to smell the roses in between fighting your enemies and destroying Toyko!

Nothing was as cute as 1992 Mothra.
the original is the only one worth watching
I haven't seen either of the remakes

You haven't even seen godzilla 1985 with the completely necessary return of Raymond Burr? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087344/
I wonder how many fellow Newgrounders have heard of King Asylus' (AKA LordAsylus) Godzilla vs. Koopzilla?

Sir...sir....sir.
Let me just say, that even the new one was fantastic.
WHO DOESN'T WANT TO SEE GODZILLA FIREN UP HIS LAZORS INTO A MUTO'S MOUTH!?
I hope they boost up zilla's size so he can take on Godzilla one day without getting completely raped.
I always liked zilla

let me correct you and say the monster scenes were fantastic. The actual human story and characters were just as bad as they've ever been, and that's okay because who cares about them anyway. In the end, it's really all about

At least his song was just for the soundtrack and not plot intrigal like King Ceasar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdnP9iCLdx4
Time for a twist. What monsters would you love to see Godzilla fight one day, as in, the monsters who have never fought Godzilla before?

Gamera! He who is really neat and full of turtle meat.

To say that Godzilla is Badass is a massive understatement.

Holy fucking shit, I didn't know anyone else watched that series.

I don't think there was ever a time when someone gave a single fuck about the characters. If I go to watch a Godzilla move, the main character isn't a fucking guy. ITS FUCKING GODZILLA.
Though, I really wouldn't have minded (and I think a lot of people agreed with me) if Bryan Cranston was the main character, didn't die, and was a badass. Then I would have actually cared about the characters, because I love Bryan Cranston and he is a fantastic actor.

Happy birthday to a legendary creature. I might read A Blinding Light creepypasta later. It's the tale of Godzilla being mutated but from its point of view.
If there's this much hype for the 60th anniversary of Godzilla, I wonder what they're going to do for the 100th anniversary?
Also, just what would happen if Godzilla was actually real?

This could happen:
Using the beta capsule, Hal becomes Ultraman!
They the two titans fight, trashing the entire city in the process. You know, while Ultraman may have supposed to be a hero, but I think he also killed more people than he have saved.

Now if only Toho actually decided to get together with Kadokawa Pictures and actually did Godzilla vs Gamera, I mean Death Battle alone back on www.screwattack.com did it as seen in this link and it's a very good thing the Death Battle alone turned out to be an Epic One due to the fact it became *heavily requested*.
I lost the game.

And upon looking at that picture, Zilla doesn't really count... the way I look at it...
If only the 1998 Godzilla film actually kept Godzilla in his *very original form* in addition to keeping the abilities he has, the movie back in 1998 in trade will be *much better received* then it is now. Instead they remade Godzilla into an Iguana-like kaiju in the 1998 film which eventually caused Toho to utterly buy the rights to the Iquana-like kaiju itself and completely re-brand as Zilla just to be toppled by Godzilla on screen, I mean seriously the 2014 version of Godzilla did a *very solid job* keeping Godzilla as is.
In either case I've be very interested to see how the future films of Godzilla will turn out, as long as they do a very good job then I pay to see them no doubt.
