If you want to find the deflection (sag) of a structural beam, you can take the first moment of area of the area under its moment diagram between two points, and divide that by its modulus of elasticity and its moment of inertia (no, not that moment of inertia, this one has nothing to do with mass)
What does that mean? It means physics and engineering need to get better fucking terminology.
