Detailed answers are encouraged and appreciated. Here's an example of how this should work.
Poster #1 Question: What if Napoleon had been able to force Russia to capitulate in his campaign during the Napoleonic wars?
Poster #2 Answer: He likely would have gone on to conquer much of the rest of continental Europe before Russia, the United Kingdom, Austria, Scandinavian countries and whichever other nations, empires(perhaps the Ottomans and/or Persians) and resistance groups decided to join in to ensure his eventual defeat. It may have taken another few decades, but no longer and would have resulted in a decidedly different Geopolitical balance for the continent. It may also have pushed back World War 1 a decade or two after such a long, drawn out campaign involving so many different parties.
Poster #2 Question: What if the Thirteen Colonies had lost the Revolutionary war to the British?
and so on...
I'll start.

It depends if he is King Koopa aka Bowser, who is a hermit or he is just a regular koopa who happens to be a hermit.
If the former, then Princess Toadstool wouldn't be captured so much unless Wario decides to pick up the slack. And we know Wario's lazy unless tons of gold is involved so that's less likely than him going after treasure chests.
If the latter, then nothing really much happens. I mean there's enough koopas in the Mushroom Kingdom as-is. If one of them just hides away all the time somewhere no one would notice if he was gone.

His related summon would have played a much greater (hah) role in Final Fantasy 7. Muse would have made a song called Knights of Macedonia instead. Leif Erikson would have decided to stay in America and turn it into his own viking empire to battle the inevitable rise of a unified but corrupt eastern hemisphere. The "fat stupid self-important" country of the world would be the United States of New Macedon. Also, McDonalds wouldn't exist.
What if when Joan of Arc was sentenced to be burned at the stake, she pulled some action hero shit and busted out of the place, blade gloriously flinging blood and guts everywhere, vowing to bring true justice to the world?

Even IF Joan of Arc could've attempted and accomplished such a feat, she would still be eventually hunted down and be tried for not only witchcraft, but for murder as well, and would be burned at the stake, this time with more security at hand. The church was still powerful and its influences spread far and wide at the time, so it wouldn't have taken long for her to be found and taken into custody. Unless she became REALLY good at disguising herself- because there were no such things as photographs to go by back then, only descriptions and drawings- and/or staying on the move for the rest of her life, she'd unfortunately just be prolonging her death. Well that was depressing to write.
Oh, and also, the editing thing in the BBS hasn't been around for that long. Just a few months at the most.

Well, the UK would've eventually gotten their asses kicked in WWI by the Germans, as it was essentially because of the Americans and Russians that we won WWI

I think there is a pretty decent chance that the colonies would have lost the American Revolution without France's help. Also, high debt France accumulated helping them was a major cause of the French Revolution. I still think the French Revolution would have happened eventually, but in all likelihood it would have been neither as long nor as bloody. Also the French, English, and other European powers were spending plenty of money on foreign wars at this point, so it's not like the French would have been rolling in cash if not for their support of the American Revolution either.
If the Americans lost the American Revolution to the British I think they would have tried again sometime later. As we see over the course of history, no colonial power is able to hold onto its colonies forever, especially if they really want to become independent. That same applies for the colonies. It may have taken another few decades or longer, but they would have become independent eventually if they continued to want to. Also, the French Revolution may have been put off a little bit.
It's also worth noting that French money added quite a few guns and supplies to the American Revolution along with their own forces, so even if the colonies had managed to win without French help the death toll would have been much higher and the descent to guerrilla warfare tactics much swifter. In all likelihood the war would have lasted much longer and it would be hard to imagine that future relations with Britain would have been patched up quite as quickly as they did. Who knows, maybe we wouldn't have sided with the British and French during WWI if the French hadn't helped us during the war. Anyway, this flight of fancy seems to be going off the deep end quick, so I think I'll stop here.

It was undoubtedly one of the strongest Empires that had ever existed. It's collapse came from within so, assuming that it had a strong interior and its people united, I could easily see it expanding into much of Africa and Asia, possibly filling the role that the British Empire filled during the Age of Imperialism, and still be around today.
During World War II, Hitler attacked Russia forcing Germany to fight a war on two fronts. Prior to this, he had been mainly fighting against the British in the west. What would have happened if Germany hadn't attacked Russia? Or if they did, had waited until they had defeated Great Britain?

What if Winston Churchill had carried out Operation: Unthinkable and the US/UK went to war with the USSR immediately after Germany's surrender in WWII?

STOP
Hitler could never, in a million years have touched the UK; they weren't fighting two fronts until D-Day Germany knocked France out of the war. And Hitler couldn't NOT invade the USSR because in his own words the only way for Germany to survive in the new century was they had to do to the slavs what the American's did to the Indians.
Even if the Nazi's win their air campaign against Britain, they still ain't landed more than 30 people in Britain;

Yeah, but this thread actually has potential for some great discussion and content, as you can see from the people who actually try.
"What if Winston Churchill had carried out Operation: Unthinkable and the US/UK went to war with the USSR immediately after Germany's surrender in WWII?"
Then we'd be stuck in a long-ass war like the shit dubya forced us into. Both countries would see massive casualties if each country was directly invaded. Even then, it would be somewhat impossible to conquer them due to the terrain, distance, population, and sheer size. So I assume there's a great potential that other countries would group into allies vs axis as the US & USSR duke it out. There'd probably be a lot of nuclear devastation as well. Though, immediate WW3 with no time to repair would be pretty difficult.
Here's my question. What if the 2 goons who did Columbine were able to make bombs correctly, and their propane tanks in the cafe actually detonated properly, and killed 400~500 people alone? Please describe the aftermath not only locally, but nation-wide and even globally, if you can. What would schools be like after a smaller-scale 9/11? IRL only 15 people died and it was still a massive shock to the nation, with permanent effects and consequences.
I actually enjoy this thread, so I would like to try to keep it going.
This is more of a general question, but how would the modern world be different if religion was still the dominant form of reason, and scientific theories like Evolution were largely ignored? Try to list more than one outcome if you can.

Only the US had a about 12 nukes at the time, and they weren't reliable;
it would have been a conventional fight at that time
Then in a few years something else gets blown up and we're right back in the middle east.

Someone else would have eventually, since there were many other conquerors and countries interested in placing a stake in the new world, however it would have certainly slowed down Spain's conquest of Mexico. It is also not entirely unlikely that this delay may have meant that France or England was able to carve out a significantly larger portion of Mexico for their own empire than they would have otherwise.

That depends. If he still founded his own religion, then nothing, since he would still have been able to divorce. If not, then he wouldn't have had a son, and the region of Europe might be slightly different.

Eminem introduced many people to rap and hip hop that otherwise might not have gravitated toward the genre. Also, as one of the most influential musical artists of the 2000s he had a great influence on many other artists popular today, including: 50 Cent, Usher, Tyler the Creator. Their sound and the sound of many other artists would be very different without his influence and thus, so would the whole music scene. Also, he really opened the floodgates for different races to think that they could become successful rappers as well, so rap and hip hop would look a little less multicultural without him.
