and then i realized that im one of the only guys in all of my classes. and in some classes I am the ONLY guy.

Yea, that's not feminism in the slightest from what I've learned. That's just being assholes or trying to establish matriarchy.

Actual feminism is for equality, not women having dominance over men. So when people encounter an actual feminist, they often don't use the term due to the negative connotations associated with it thanks to tumblr femnazis.

As for college classes, no need to feel bad. (I'm still male technically at the moment) but I notice with some classes (even back in high school) that sometimes I was the only guy in class. I kind of found it funner that way for some reason, like I fit in more when I wasn't having to listen to dudes talk, but that's derailing a bit, bleh.

then again, it could be just a gen-ed class, or he could be in high school. the last time i had a sociology class was 10 years ago when I was a senior in high school, though unlike the OP, my class was taught by a guy who leaned rather Republican (though his politics never really came up during class). I actually enjoyed that class, to be honest.

Why worry about the things that might negatively effect you when you can enjoy the positive effects. In a profession dominated by one gender you are more likely to get and retain a job for reasons of diversity in many Western countries. The glass escalator is a real thing. Take advantage of it. You don't get many breaks in life, so might as well take advantage of the ones you do.

My sociology professor was a guilty white liberal. He tried to use humor to keep the class entertained, but it just consisted of taking the piss out of all the white people in the class for acting too white.
In one lecture he told the class that people of color couldn't be racist because platitudes, but his assignments all consisted of logging our racist tendencies. In one lecture he said that I was appropriating white culture by talking and dressing like a white person. This guy was a walking pile of contradictions.

He didn't like my frivolous use of horrible slurs like "eskimo" and "gypsy" but he still gave me an A on all my assignments, even when I didn't put an iota of effort into them.
