She won a nobel peace prize for creating a school were girls can get education in Pakistan, some Pakistanis are angry for this. But i think its good that this bring a rolemodel into the islamic world, to fight for human rights that is ignored, thanks to theocratic places. I mean we take education for granted while there they can get killed for it. I think that's pretty admirable to fight for values that male and female should have equal rights. That's a pretty good thing to fight for, and she's pretty tollerant of religious belief and race, so that's a plus. To put all humans as equal.

Do you have any discussion-invoking questions or anything? This thread seems pretty pointless.

Well yeah but she got shot in the head for defying the taliban in the interest of human rights and equality. She was already an activist for a long time and had even won the international children’s peace prize. It's not as simple as her having been some chick the taliban shot for going to school who survived and wrote a book.

(off-topic) nobel prize in physics was awarded to three japanese scientists for blue LEDs.

sounds more like engineering and material science than actual physics in my opinion, and they already have tons of different awards in this area.

So, what's the point of this thread?

Response to Malala 2014-10-12 20:32:51

Although Malala did a great thing and survived a bullet, this thread is pretty much pointless.

You go, Malala! One of my heroes out there bringing education to those unfortunate enough to be born in a hostile environment getting some more recognition. I'm happy for her.

The Nobel Peace Prize is a joke.

Really. Even Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize.

Every thread OP makes is pointless.

Hasn't everyone learned that all OP's threads are pointless? In this one, he didn't even give us much to talk about.

Talk about the subject. If you see no reason for this thread, don't post in it. Insulting or arguing as as against the rules as they always have been. Enjoy your evenings.

Jeez this thread has turned into quite the shitfest.
People talkin' about what they don't know about.

Usual BBS activity, really.
