I graduated high school in 2008. I've been through community college, university, and now graduate school. It's hard work and costs a lot of money. Paying for most of it myself, I'm in plenty of debt from student loans, and the career that I'm aiming toward is very far from financially rewarding. Nevertheless, it's want to do, and the only reason I'm going to be capable of doing it is because I went to college.
It's going to take a while for me to repay my loans, but I'm not looking to live the high life. I don't mind living in this shitty apartment because it allows me to make bigger payments. Soon enough I'll be debt free and enjoying a job that I love.

It really depends on what you want to do with your life.
Some paths almost always require higher education.
Some paths are easier with higher education.
Some paths do not need any sort of higher education.

I feel that the liberal arts are not at all worth it. Also i don't feel its worth the cost
My mom makes 12.50 an hour and she doesn't have a college degree, but we're still broke. Our internet was supposed to be shut off a week ago, and my cable was supposed to be off this morning, and we're pretty sure she won't ever be promoted because anything above her job now requires a high school degree (which she does not have).
So go get your college degree, even if it's an associates, it's worth it.
i'm getting a associates degree in Network Administration and Security I take three classes which are all on two days a week so I can still work, its worth it.
I'm spending 1200 man-hours on my degree. After I get my degree I'll only need to put in 600 for the same cost.
If you're going because you want to, and not because you feel obligated to, then yes.
But try to study something that actually has a chance of landing you a job and you will enjoy at least a little bit.

well do you want to work at the mcdonalds your whole life?
I got my Master's Degree in Human Factors Engineering at the end of 2011. They said it was a high demand area, and jobs should be pretty easy to find.
What have I gotten out of it? I basically THREW MY LIFE AWAY!
I have NOT been able to get a permanent job out of this nearly THREE YEARS after I got my degree! Not with Human Factors, not anywhere. I tried to get a low-end retail job in summer 2012, but the "Overqualified" issue prevented me from selling clothes or flipping burgers.
I have been FORCED to take additional college classes for these past 2.75 years! I never wanted to take them, and I am getting close to obtaining a second Masters that I never even wanted to get! I have this low-end job on campus, but it is Student Employment and I have to take classes to work there.
I have gained 5 internships, though 2 of them were the same place and position, so 3 if you combine the separate time periods. None of them led to permanent employment, and I don't feel any closer to it at this point.
I am 30 years old, and I still live with my parents. I have to, since I can't support myself financially. As far as I know, you have to be a complete, pathetic loser to be stuck with your parents at that age!
So for me, my Master's was a death sentence to my future. And I doubt anyone else suffers this. I think I have been singled out, and all of the other Engineering Master's have permanent jobs except for me.
It isn't enough for me to go to Hell when I die. I must experience Hell on Earth as well.
Feel no mercy for me. It will only cause you to suffer as well.

It's worth it if you want a job that you actually want in your whole life. Sure, you can get a job that you don't need to go to college for but in most jobs, you would obviously need a college degree in order to get the job that you wanted.
for those that took on college debt would you do it again if you could? In addition to that, do you feel your professors were honest with you about your furture after college?
Those who said it's worth it for some but not for others hit it spot on.
Anyone who says you have to go to college to be successful is wrong.
Anyone who says going to college will make you successful is wrong.
It's really a gamble these days, just like lots of things.
I think it's good to have at least some education, but that doesn't necessarily have to be from formal classes. If you're not a complete tard you should be able to teach yourself lots of stuff with the resources we have available these days (books, Internet, books downloaded from Internet, etc...).
if you want to be a loser, then don't but don't expect to get far enough without a college education in this day and age especially in this economy.
Many companies will train their employees under their own system. There's always that.
Its an option. Nothing more. Saying yes it is seems too easier said than done. Its more on the person rather than the opinions of us who are pretty clear on what our stance is towards college.
Sexy Yes? I would think so :3
College is an investment. With every investment there's always a risk, that risk lowers or rises depending on your major/career.
THIS YEAR 2014 THE UNITED STATES HAS SEEN ITS HIGHEST COLLEGE ENROLLEMENT IN ITS HISTORY AND STUDENT LOAN DEBT SURPASSES CREDIT CARD DEBT. i would also like to point out that many mdonalds managers make quite a bit. So how do you define a high salary an investment banker, cfo , rapper?

That's an inherently shitty argument
Not going to collage doesn't mean you can't get a good job you shitbrains, it just means the really super high paying jobs are off limits, there's still and always will be really good jobs that you can get with just a highschool diploma

haha. xenomit, the most egocentric kid on all of newgrounds, saying my brain is shit because I suggested the OP should work for mcdonalds his whole life, thinking I believe no college = mcdonalds.
You can be warren buffet and have no college education whatsoever. Many examples of such success in my family alone. anybody, with sufficent will, can learn everything you shall find in college, without ever stepping one foot in an university.
fuck jobs. fuck regular career paths. fuck modern day slaves who work at mcdonalds. fuck what little cunts like you think.

Whether you were being sarcastic or not, you said that not going to collage = working at mcdonalds, which is not only wore the hell out, but is a shitty and overtly wrong statement
It also doesn't help that you're always a dick like that
I also don't know what anything I said had anything to do with being egocentric

It doesn't even mean that. It just means someone would have to get into such jobs through other means than relying on a college degree, but usually that's how they'd do it anyway, even with a college degree.
More or less it's how privileged someone is as to what kinds of jobs they can get into, rather than if they have a college degree or not. Have the right connections or family background and you can get into some very cushy jobs. Don't have that and even a college degree might not get you anywhere. It just depends.
its simple either go to college, or go to a union hall or technical school and learn a skilled trade or hell even the military is a good option.
Depends what you want to do. I went for a year, but then I had a change of heart, didn't really want to end up like the average joe, so I dropped out.
ONE THING I DONT LIKE ABOUT COLLEGE IS THERE IS LIMITED DISUSSION AND INTELECCTUAL CENSORSHIP
