Many people have never heard of SugarGliders.

They are about the size of two mice with long tails and when they jump they have extra skin between the front paws and the back paws that they spread to glide certain distances.

The reason Sugar is part of the name is because they like sweet fruits.

I bought one of these VERY interesting pets three years ago.
A shocking thing is there life-span. They can live up to 16 Years!!!!

I recommend these flying animals.

Well, sure they look good and all...

But I think I shall stick with my fish, merci beaucoup.

*hugs fish*

Although a flying squirrel would be useful in certain circumstances.

They are not rare. Well maybe. They come from Austrailia and I bought mine for $200 in a pet store.

SugarGliders,

Bark like puppies if you forget to feed them.

Like to come out only at dark unless you wake them up to play.

Can sit in your pocket if they are tame ( Mine never liked being in small spaces)

Will bite everyone except owners ( just have to hol dout your palm to smell)

Eat fruit with their hands like humans.

I bought it a ferret hammock to sleep in and it dug a hole so it could hide between the two layers of fabric.

If you disturb it while it is sleeping it often makes a RangaRanga sound like a dying engine.

I used to own two, but I had to move into a new house and I didn't want my cats to eat them. I sold them to a woman who already had a group. Since they are social animals it is best to have them in groups. I was very happy to find them a good home with lots of other gliders. Plus, since I had them neutered, I knew she wouldn't breed them and sell the babies to mean people.
