Is it me, or does Popeye seem to have Astro Boy eyes? I'm pretty sure he didn't have those always, but don't quote me on that.

does anyone else notice how popeye is not willingly trying to engage the pirates and he's using gadgets rather than his fists. please don't tell me this is one of those before he got strong stories.

Translating 2D drawing and animating directly into 3D does not work. If you're gonna do it, you have to adapt it to make it look more... "real". Otherwise it just looks incredibly stupid.

Apparently this isn't a teaser, so much as an animation test. The roles might be played by different actors in the final movie, should it hit production.

The colored version of popeye shows his pupil more; usually in the black and white versions he just has a pacman eye.

If you're gonna list 3D childhood films, then I shall list "Stand by me Doraemon" too bad it's only available in Japan, it would have been too awesome if english would have been available and from what I've heard it's really good.

It does seem to be sort of dominated by a few. But it's good when animated movies hire actual voice actors.

The backgrounds and the cartoonish style of the character models doesn't seem to match to me, they both seem out of place.

Like how a TF2 character would look within a Left 4 Dead environment.

Also, I haven't seen every Popeye cartoon, but what was that orange animal??? I don't recall him in the old cartoons.

2. So far this just seems like your basic Popeye cartoon. Nothing new brought to the table or interesting like with Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Which is a shame because I feel some really creative stuff could be done with Popeye.
