Okay, I haven't seen a thread about this yet, but now Apple is making a smartwatch.
Apparently you need an iPhone 5 or higher to get the damn thing to work, which is ridiculous.
It runs all your favourite apps...just like the phone you already have.
Aaaaannd...that's all I can think of saying about it.
What are your opinions on this gadget?

I ain't paying 800$ or whatever they would charge for a watch
I don't use Apple products. They're too locked-down to be able to do anything fun with them. I like to be able to install experimental ROM or open them up and see how they work. There aren't any Apple products that work like that except the (old) Mac Pro.
Their whole system of "hermetically seal it so the customers can't do anything we don't allow them to do" is offensive to me. I will not buy their products.
I think it looks absolutely pointless. You already have an iphone, why have a watch to go with it?
It's pretty useless in my opinion since you NEED to have a phone with you for it to function properly and fully. Why a little watch? They should make a flexible gauntlet-like thing that goes around your arm where you can do everything. Why not just make iContacts that can display everything where ever right in front of you, and maybe change how your eyes look. Even though that might be long ways away from happening they should still be working on it lol.
