I recently got a new pair of headphones, but they're uncomfortable to wear, and they hurt my ears. When I wear them backwards, it's more comfortable but the left and right are switched. Is there a way to reverse them so the left goes out the right and the right goes out the left? I tried googling it, but I can't seem to find anything.

Bonus question: Do you prefer headphones or earbuds?

Oh, I was referring to the left and right outputs, if it wasn't clear in my OP. ^^;

Because when I'm playing video games, things on my left sound like they're on my right, and it's disorienting and unpleasant.

Cut open the cable and switch the wires for the left and right channels.

Or unscrew the connector's outer shell and switch the wires that way.

Or get a decent pair of headphones.

Buy new headphones.

Like I said earlier, I don't have that kind of money. I'm not looking for fancy studio headphones either.

I use headphones myself, the only thing they aren't good for is laying down in bed with them and trying to sleep while listening to stuff, usually I end up taking my headphones off before I properly enjoy laying there.

The short of it is I prefer headphones.

When I started going to the gym summer '13, I finally had a phone that could act as an mp3 player for me. I bought some earbuds with my phone that even had a switch at about neck level that could perform various functions, and doubled as a microphone so I could still take calls. As I tested them out on the treadmill, they would keep falling out of my ears every couple of steps. It was really distracting...I tried different inserts that came with the earbuds, to no avail...shit kept falling out of my ears, eventually even to the point where I wasn't even jostling around in a run, I'd just bend down to pick something up and one of them would fall out.

I bought some cheap, different kind of earbuds that had a variety of inserts. Some of them were even smaller than the last, so I went for the biggest. It was uncomfortable as hell for me...and even then, when I would start running on the treadmill again, they would eventually wriggle their way out.

Then I bought a fifteen dollar pair of headphones from sony that wrapped over the ears and behind the head. I have NEVER had a problem with them ever. When not in use, they fit snugly around my neck. I use them all the time.

I like these types of headphones, they're much more comfortable.

Might feel like a clamp on your head at first, but you get used to it. It's adjustable anyway.

headphones, but I always stick to earbuds to because decent headphones seem to be more expensive than decent earbuds...

Earbuds are better, because they're so much easier to carry around and I heard headphones can cost up to a hundred dollars, seriously. You can buy tons of these earbuds and things will always work out, dude!
