Why, fancy meeting you here! This is the Official (that's what Ofcl stands for btw, lol) Newgrounds Audio Underdogs Competition Final Round Thread 2014! :D If you STILL don't know what that is, why not check out the details?
The users listed below have made it into the Final Round. They have about 2 weeks (until Friday, September 5th at 11:59 p.m. EST) to submit their final pieces! :D All rules for the knock-out round apply to this one as well. If you need a refresher, here they are. The winner of the competition will be announced on Monday, September 9th.
Also, we appreciate your patience regarding the reviews, as not all of the judges have submitted all of the ones they owe you competitors from the previous round. That said, the judges (Bosa, Camoshark, Steampianist, Johnfn, Troisnyx, Lockyn, PirateCrab, and myself) all deserve a huge amount of gratitude for agreeing to give you guys these reviews in the first place, no matter what score you got. Feel free to PM me, or any of the other judges, with questions you have about your scores. However, please keep them friendly and not accusing. I've already lost some precious beauty sleep over this competition, so aggravating me is not a good idea.
I will also say that there are some EXTREMELY talented individuals who didn't make it in. Two such individuals especially come to mind: @Larrynachos and @Rainheart666787. Despite all the joking around about ties and dice-rolling and whatnot, there actually was a tie between Larrynachos and MetalRenard. We DID argue about how to break it (I don't make all of the stall-stories up on my own, you know), and eventually we asked a judge from a different group to decide on his/her own. (S)he picked MetalRenard, even though Larrynachos and MetalRenard technically got the same score. It's tough saying goodbye to you, Larry, but eventually (even if there was quite a bit of push-back), we decided that it wouldn't be fair to the other competitors to accept you AND MetalRenard.
As for @Rainheart666787, he missed getting into the final round by .06 points, which is simply a crazy small margin. I hope he knows that it really could've gone either way in that group as well. ;(
Anyway, I need to wrap this up and go to bed. XD
Top scorer in this group: Clerik
PROFESSIONAL AMATEURS GROUP
Top scorer in this group: Djabbic
Top scorer in this group (BY FAR): Bassfiddlejones
I just realized: all of the remaining competitors' usernames begin with letters in the first half of the alphabet. 0_O
Also, thanks again to Deshiel for volunteering to make forum signatures for the winners.
Lastly, I'd like to thank EVERYONE who has supported this contest in any way, even with a few words typed in a forum post. It really means a lot to me that a competition can be coordinated (with reasonable success) by a 17-year-old boy on this website. :')
You may now begin work on your Final Round pieces, remaining competitors. >:D
