ITT label any fashion you don't like as "hipster". Not unlike all the other similar threads. The term doesn't even have any meaning anymore anyway. It's basically some bullshit term for anything that's not mainstream these days and/or stuff that's perceived as "hipster" by some marketing folks.

Do those fashions look ugly? Yes. But so do pretty much any fashion show fashions and the like.

Do I care if people wear those fashions? I don't give a shit. Dress every day as a turtle for all I care. I mean who really cares that much what other people wear, and doesn't it say more about the person with their panties all in a bunch rather than the person wearing unusual styles?

The word "hipster" is a dried out and has a different meaning for everyone who uses it.

Honestly, calling something hipster nowadays just causes people to stop associating themselves with it is that's being referred to as hipster. It's used as a vague pejorative by people who want to make other people feel bad for doing things that aren't considered mainstream. Nobody is sure exactly what it means, but nobody wants to be one.

To me, the only concrete definition hipster ever had was like wikipedia states it: "affluent or middle class young Bohemians who reside in gentrifying neighborhoods" and that's it.

So find a different word to describe all these people with thick-rimmed glasses and ironic fashion senses because they're sure as fuck not all hipsters.

Those fucking janissaries have no style AT ALL. Sure, they might be elite ottoman soldiers, guarding the great Sultan himself. They may have fought countless battles, saved disastrous fights when the odds were 5 : 1. But their hats make no sense. And the legends that their discipline is only matched by their skill in firearms, doesn't save them from an obvious fact that their hat + those shoes= terrible combo.

Is this actually clothing that someone is intended to wear, or is this like in fashion shows where you see all the high-concept stuff that looks crazy as shit, but it's really more of a design philosophy that shows up in more marketable clothing in subtle ways?
